TRAVELING TO LANTA

Less than 3 hours from Phuket, Krabi and Ao Nang

Flights
With the opening of Krabi Airport as an international airport on 18th May 2006, many airlines are now able to offer carriage direct from Europe and other destinations.  Airlines include Hokkaido, Nova, Tiger, Silk, PB Air and national airline Thai Airways.

For passengers who don’t mind taking the time for a transfer, or prefer to make a stopover in Bangkok and sample the big city delights before heading south, a number of operators offer regular, inexpensive domestic flights to Krabi.  Remember to check whether leaving from the new Bangkok airport, Suvarnabhumi International, or from the older airport, Don Muang.  Flight prices are invariably cheaper on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Ko Lanta is easily reached from mainland Krabi by ferry and car or minivan, or from other islands, including Phuket and Phi Phi, by boat.  The public minivan service is of course the cheapest way to travel, but for a little more comfort and style, a private transfer can be easily arranged when GayLanta.net books your accommodation.

Please see the tables shown as a guide for ferry and minivan schedules.
